Taiwan Futures Exchange Participates in UK Exhibition to Expand European Foreign Investment Presence

To further internationalize Taiwan's futures market and strengthen foreign capital participation, the Taiwan Futures Exchange traveled to London, UK, from June 16 to 18 to participate in the International Derivatives Expo (IDX), organized by the Futures Industry Association (FIA). During this event, the Exchange set up a booth and arranged meetings with various foreign investment institutions, actively promoting the unique features and advantages of Taiwan's futures market.
The FIA IDX has long been recognized as a significant annual event for the European derivatives market, attracting participation from exchanges, clearing houses, futures firms, institutional investors, and information service providers from around the globe. This year's conference focused on the development trends of the European and global derivatives markets, covering topics such as the rebuilding of UK-EU and US-EU financial relationships, changes in regulatory policies, advancements in trading and clearing technologies, operational resilience enhancements, and applications of artificial intelligence and cloud technologies.
The conference gathered nearly 1,000 representatives from 35 countries, fostering face-to-face exchanges that created a prominent platform for the derivatives market in Europe, providing participating units with opportunities to promote market advantages and enhance international visibility. During the event, Taiwan Futures Exchange's Deputy General Manager Yang Chao-Shun (center) was photographed with FIA Chairman Walt Lukken (second from right), showcasing a collaborative spirit between the two organizations.
During the exhibition, Deputy General Manager Yang Chao-Shun led a team that actively interacted with traders, institutional investors, and industry professionals in Europe, engaging in in-depth discussions with foreign investment institutions from Europe and the Middle East. They introduced the latest developments in Taiwan's futures market, including the active trading of Taiwan's stock index and individual stock futures, the continuous expansion of night market products, and the steadily increasing participation of foreign capital, as well as promoting upcoming products like the Taiwan index options expiring on Fridays.
The Taiwan Futures Exchange aims to assist foreign investment institutions in grasping the trends and potential business opportunities within the Taiwanese futures market through this exhibition. Looking ahead, the Exchange will continue to actively expand its international business, deepen connections with the European market and international foreign clients through participation in FIA IDX, enhance the international visibility and attractiveness of Taiwan's futures market, and further strengthen international cooperation to broaden diverse market opportunities.
