(Reporter Hsieh Cheng-Ju, New Taipei) Today (1st), the New Taipei City Government hosted the '2025 Poland–New Taipei City Trade & Investment Exchange' at the 'Dot Lab' on the 3rd floor of the city hall, warmly welcoming the visiting delegation from the Polish-Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce (PTIPH). Mayor Hou You-ih also personally attended the meeting to demonstrate New Taipei City's proactive approach and significant emphasis on deepening international economic and trade cooperation.

Mayor Hou emphasized that in response to the global reshaping of supply chains and changes in the geopolitical economy, New Taipei City is actively and strategically positioning itself in the international market while continuously strengthening industrial ties with European countries. Poland, being an important member of the EU, holds a key geographical position, and its friendly policy environment provides excellent conditions for Taiwanese enterprises to enter the European market.

This exchange not only highlights the remarkable competitiveness of New Taipei City's businesses in the technology and manufacturing sectors but also symbolizes the increasingly tight partnership between the two sides. Mayor Hou looks forward to expanding cooperative opportunities in critical fields such as smart manufacturing and sustainable development in the future, aspiring to create mutually beneficial new opportunities.

Director Sheng Hsiao-Jung of the Economic Development Bureau explained that this exchange meeting is a direct result of the export promotion activities carried out in Poland in April of this year (114). At that time, the delegation conducted on-site inspections of Polish industrial zones and visited the municipalities of Warsaw and Łódź, engaging in in-depth discussions with local representatives from industry, government, and academia on important topics such as smart cities, digital transformation, and industrial upgrading.

Through the one-on-one trade meetings held in Warsaw, both sides established a solid foundation for cooperation. The reciprocal visits and ongoing interactions not only help to strengthen the bilateral industry ties but also demonstrate New Taipei City's determination and action in promoting international cooperation. In the future, New Taipei City will continue to guide enterprises towards international markets and assist them in achieving more economic and trade results.

Agnieszka Sygitowicz, president of the Polish-Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce, mentioned that Poland, as a representative of economic growth in Central and Eastern Europe, can provide abundant and diverse market opportunities for New Taipei enterprises. With the promotion of EU policies, the Polish market is demonstrating strong momentum and vast business opportunities in various sectors such as technology, manufacturing, and energy.

President Sygitowicz also highly praised the innovative capacity and international perspective of New Taipei City's industries, expressing a desire to be a bridge for promoting bilateral cooperation and looking forward to deepening cooperative relations. The Economic Development Bureau emphasized that in the future, it will continue to hold international industrial matchmaking events and actively build New Taipei City into an important platform connecting Asia and Europe.

Through continuous deepening of city diplomacy and business exchanges, New Taipei City will enhance its international layout and industrial upgrading, improve its global competitiveness, and create more opportunities and potential for business development.
