In response to the United States imposing a 32% tariff on Taiwan, President Lai Ching-te held a symposium for information and communication technology companies on the 5th and invited representatives from traditional industries and small and medium-sized enterprises for a second symposium on the 6th. President Lai hopes to listen to the industry's opinions on frontline demands through these two meetings and provide maximum support to stabilize the economy. Participants unanimously agreed that the government should negotiate cautiously, prioritize the introduction of an industry assurance plan, and design medium- to long-term response strategies.
