In the first round of the Texas Open, American player Sam Ryder shot a score of 63, nine under par, to hold the solo lead. Ryder started with a series of birdies and finished the round without any bogeys, showcasing an excellent performance. He stated that he focused on his swing and was quite satisfied with the score. In second place is Keith Mitchell, who completed the round with a score of 64, while former Open Championship winner Brian Harman ranked third with a score of 66. Several players, including Carlson Yang and Jordan Spieth, tied for fourth with scores of 67. Swedish golfing star Ludwig Åberg ranked 43rd with a score of 71, Hideki Matsuyama tied for 90th with a score of 73, and defending champion Akshay Bhatia shot a 74 in the first round, placing him 103rd, needing to improve his score to make the cut.
