"The Girl with a Pearl Earring": 2,700 artists reinterpret classic masterpieces with dogs, fruits, and robots
The famous work "Girl with a Pearl Earring" by the Dutch artist Vermeer is on display at the Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery, inviting the public to "reimagine" it. About 2,700 artists submitted their ideas, showcasing 60 innovative works that cover a variety of themes, including robots and dogs. Although a technical analysis of the painting was conducted in 2020, the identity of the woman in the painting remains unknown. This artwork was completed around 1665 and was unknown in the 19th century, later gaining recognition in the art world and becoming a classic.
