In response to the U.S. imposing a 32% counterpart tariff on Taiwan, a dual strategy is being implemented: advancing negotiations while simultaneously supporting the industrial supply chain.
President Lai Ching-te recently held a discussion with information and communication industry representatives regarding the 32% tariff imposed by the United States on Taiwan. He plans to convene a second meeting with representatives from traditional industries and small and medium-sized enterprises, aiming to provide industry support to stabilize the economy. In addition, the Executive Yuan also held a meeting to discuss financial measures, emphasizing that the government will simultaneously advance negotiations and adjust industry support programs to address global economic and trade challenges, ensuring the competitiveness of Taiwan's industries and economic stability.
